Rock is a solid mixture of crystals of one or more minerals. Some rocks, such as coal, are made from organic materials.The rock cycle is a process by which one rock type changes to another. A rock that can float on water? The igneous rock, pumice. Chalk is a soft, white form of sedimentary limestone. The metamorphic rock marble is formed from limestone. The Taj Mahal was built in the 17th Century entirely from marble. Metamorphic rock can also originate from other types of metamorphic rock. Examples of igneous rocks include granite, basalt, obsidian and pumice. Examples of sedimentary rocks include sandstone, mudstone, flint, and chalk.
